The publishing industry has changed fundamentally over the past two decades.
From the consolidation of traditional publishers and distributors to the rise of mega online booksellers like Amazon to the juggernaut of self-publishing. In-house editors are too busy to work on the books they acquire. Literary agents are more selective about submissions and won’t represent books unless they are almost perfect. It’s a brave new world for authors.
But one thing remains constant: the importance of the quality. Each book must adhere to the highest professional standards in this highly competitive marketplace. Whether fiction or nonfiction, self-published or traditionally published, agents, publishers, and readers expect excellence.
Independent editors play a crucial role in helping authors achieve the success their time and talent deserve. Seasoned professionals such as myself who have spent many years evaluating submissions and working with authors on their work know what it takes to strengthen a book into a high-quality, commercial project. It is my professional mission to share this experience with authors to help them make their books the best they can be.
I work with dedicated authors, both published and yet-to-be-published at every point in the process. I particularly enjoy working with first-time authors. I share their excitement as they pursue their dream of sharing their books with the world. My clients have seen their manuscripts develop and grow into finished, professional books ready for publication. Many have been accepted by literary agents and acquired by traditional publishers. Many have been self-published with great success.
I look forward to helping you bring your book and your talent to the readership it deserves.
