As a senior editor working in New York trade publishing for over 40 years, my experience embraces nearly every genre of book-length work. As a young editor at Avon, I published an Edgar-nominated mystery series. As a senior editor at Harlequin Books, I launched New World, its first new trade imprint of contemporary and historical women’s fiction. As a book packager, I created and edited a wide variety of YA series.

As Editor-in-Chief at Kensington Publishing Corp., I published New York Times bestselling celebrity memoirs, crime fiction and nonfiction, suspense thrillers and women’s contemporary fiction, narrative nonfiction, and humor; supervised the founding of Dafina, one of the first African-American women’s fiction imprints, and Twin Streams, an alternative health imprint. At Penguin, I acquired and edited dozens of titles in the popular Complete Idiots Guides series.

As an independent editor, I bring my editorial expertise to projects by individual authors, both unpublished and published. While I work with many experienced authors, I specialize in helping develop and shape the works of first-time writers. Many have gone on to find publishers or to have great success in the vibrant self publishing arena.

I live in New York City.
